How can I train with weight plates?
Weight plates are versatile training accessories for strength athletes of all fitness levels. They can be used with a barbell or on their own for various exercises. Typical exercises with weight plates include:
Squats for the leg and glute muscles
Bench press for the chest, shoulder and arm muscles
Deadlifts for the whole body, especially the back and legs
Shoulder press for strong shoulders
Bent-over rows to strengthen the upper back
Russian twists for the abdominal muscles
Farmer’s walk to improve grip strength
For a complete workout, we recommend combining the weight plates with a barbell.
Why do I need a barbell for my workout?
Although weight plates can also be used without a bar for some exercises, they only reach their full potential when combined with a barbell. Sportstech offers a high-quality barbell that is ideally compatible with these weight plates. The plates meet Olympic standards and have a 55 mm bore. They fit all barbells with a 50 mm sleeve diameter.
Which weight plate sets are available?
There are four different sets to choose from:
2 x 5 kg
2 x 10 kg
2 x 15 kg
2 x 20 kg
Each set contains exactly two plates of the same weight. It is not possible to combine different weights in one set.
What material are the weight plates made of?
The plates are made of high-quality cast iron with a durable rubber coating that prevents corrosion and ensures a long service life.
Are the weight plates suitable for professional use?
Yes, the plates are suitable for both home use and professional use in the gym.
Are the weight plates compatible with the Sportstech Smith Machines SXM150 and SXM200?

How can I protect my floor?
Sportstech offers the following floor protection mats to protect your floor and make your workout quieter:
BS100 (4 pieces per set) – EVA foam puzzle mats
BS200 (sold individually) – studio-quality rubber mats
These mats absorb impacts and provide a safe training surface.
Can I order individual weights separately?
No, weight plates can only be ordered in sets of two.
Is there a warranty on the weight plates?
